With the growing popularity of the Crossroads Art Scene--more and more people are heading to First Friday for a fun and fabulous night of free art. But as the event gains popularity--the more difficult it is to find ANY information pertaining to the Artist Openings and event info for First Friday. Here are the best Gallery Events and openings for August 2006's First Friday.

  • 'We Know but Don't Want to Belive What We Know' , 6-9pm, Pi Gallery, 419 E. 19th St6-9pm (donations to the event go to Doctors Without Borders)
  • Light Show Performance by KC Friends of Alvin Ailey. 1924 Main, 8-10pm.
  • 'Where Were You on September 11th?' Time Warner will be taping responses to this question which will be shown at a special ceremony and broadcasted on KC on Demand. Grand Gallery, 1815 Grand Blvd, 6-9pm.
  • 'Michael's Red Carpet Street Style Present Mag's Spotlight- hit the red carpet, strike a pose and get publised in Present Mag's August Issue. YJ's Snack Bar 128 W. 18th, 6-9pm.
