The obvious way to spend any St. Pattys Day is to head to Kellys Westport Inn, located in the heart of Westport (500 Westport Rd). It's the place to spend St. Pat's. Odowds Little Dublin is also another place not to be missed, with music playing all day and a great upstairs deck where you can croon to your favorite Irish sing-a-long at both the Plaza and Zoan Rosa locations. Tomfooleries also serves up a great Irish breakfast from 8am-Noon at both the Northland (8608 Prairie View) and Plaza (612 W. 47th) locations.
The Bulldog, at 1715 Main, opens its doors at 8am for Irish breakfast and hosts its neighbor, the Pitch Weeklys, Annual St. Pats Party which promises not to disappoint. Its also close to the parade route action, which is a wee bit convenient. The Martini Corners Street Party at 31st and Oak hosts up a great time between the Velvet Dog and the Empire Room with bands and DJs playing all day. The fun starts at 11am.
Corona Cantina #1 with its Spring Break feel hosts its St. Pat's day celebration with $1 green draws on Sunday and Monday.
Balanca's 18th & Grand, opens at 6am on the parade route
Brick 17th & McGee, opens at 8am
Cashew 2000 Grand, opens at 6am with all 5 bars open. Perfect for parade watching.
McFadden's (13th and Grand)- opens at 7am for Keg's and Eggs.
Raglan Road (14th and Grand)- authentic Irish pub just opened, drinks, entertainment, and Irish fare all day.
Angel's Rock Bar (13th and Walnut), green beer from 5pm-??
Tengo Sed Cantina (13th and Walnut) hosts its 'St. Pedro's Day' party starting at 9am.
If your not looking for a total smashfest, Mike Kellys Westsider at 1515 Westport Road is a good choice. Doors open at 11am with drink specials and great eats. Kansas City fave Eddie Delahunt plays at 2 p.m. making for a perfect post-parade destination. The Gaf, at 7122 Wornall, will probably pull the laid back Brookside crowd and those who tire of all the amateurs in Westport. Lew's (75th and Wornall) also opens its doors at 6am and hosts Disco Dick and the Mirror Balls ($10/15) with drink specials and great food all day.
The younger crowd probably wants to head to Mickeys located at 420 NW Englewood Rd, in the Northland, and 9720 Quivira in Lenexa. The Irish fest starts on Wednesday the 15th and doesnt stop until the last drop of green beer is gone. They promise an unlimited amount of green jell-o shots and live bands throughout the days.
