Mother's Day at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art :

Enjoy a special day of activities that celebrate mom's on Mother's Day at the Nelson. They'll be hosting many free activities, including a 'Spirit of the Wood' performance, Mother's Day Tour, and Woodwind Quintet Concert as well as a Mother's Day Tour. and Mother Earth in the Kansas City Sculpture Park.

Mother's Day at Powell Gardens:

After brunching at Cafe Thyme, you can tour the gardens (and see their new Chapungu African sculpture exhibit) and enjoy an outdoor performance by Brookside Brass. You may also picnic at Powell by ordering a 'gourmet' or boxed lunch for a relaxing afternoon outdoors.

Mother's Day Event at the KC Zoo :

Every mom enjoys the KC Zoo (and children do too), and every mom gets in FREE on Mother's Day. Mom's also get free tram, train and boat rides... and free ice cream on their special day. The Kansas City Zoo's new River Otter exhibit and enterance are also open which is something to see.

Symphony Designers' Showhouse:

If your mom is into decorating, take her for a tour of the Symphony Designers' Showhouse this Mother's Day. Hosted by the Junior Women's Symphony Alliance, the Designers' Showhouse XXXIX is magically transformed by local designers and may be found at 5730 Ward Parkway. Tickets are $13 in advance, and $15 at the door and is open from 12-5pm on Sunday.
