Riverfest

By Mary Anne McNeish-Sharp, About.com

Kansas City Riverfest :

Kansas City Riverfest marks the beginning of the 4th of July weekend and kicks off on July 3rd and 4th. Held at Berkley Riverfront Park, this annual event not only has one of the best Fireworks displays in the Kansas City Metro that is choreographed to live music, but plenty of great entertainment for the whole family.

Fireworks Spectacular:

Fireworks at Riverfest are in fact, spectacular, and are in my opinion, the longest running fireworks display in the metro. Choreographed to live music--they start at 10pm on the 4th.

Tickets, Parking and Other Info:

Cost: Ticket prices are $5, children 12 and under are free.

Parking: Berkley Park does not lend to many parking spaces, so you may have to resort to parking on the grass around the riverfront park. Beware--cars have been known to get stuck in the mud....

Riverfest offers plenty of entertainment for those of all ages to enjoy:

The Zeros
Freestyle Motocross
Kids Carnival and Playground
Ski Show on the Mo
The U.S. Air Force Band Performance
